Hanson International Academy Celebrates Student Success in May 2016 Convocation Ceremony
VANCOUVER, May 22, 2016
120 graduates took their first steps towards a promising future as they walked across the stage of the Massey Theatre in New Westminster for Hanson International Academy Vancouver’s third ever graduation ceremony Saturday, May 21st.
Hanson faculty, staff and a number of distinguished guests that included Cambrian College’s Dean of Schools of Business and Information Technology; Creative Arts, Design and Music; and Hospitality Joan Campbell, Burnaby Councillor James Wang, and Hanson’s Chief Executive Officer and Principal Shouyi Ma, were all there to congratulate and to inspire our graduates.
Ms. Campbell, Mr. Wang and Mr. Ma all shared inspiring speeches that highlighted the importance of ambition, endurance and flexibility as the key ingredients for any professional success.
Following the presentation of diplomas, Shouyi Ma and Alison De Luisa, Associate Vice President, Student and Employee Development at Cambrian College, handed out the Principal’s Award and the Above and Beyond the Call of Duty Award to a number of exceptional graduates.
Kunyu Guo, class of 2016 Valedictorian, also spoke and shared her personal success story of Hanson graduate quickly turned Hanson employee. She also emphasized the value of the supportive and diverse Hanson environment which had nurtured her and given her the tools for success.
The ceremony was followed by an intimate reception at the Massey Theatre lounge and gallery. Graduates and guests capped of an exciting afternoon with some quality conversation, great photo ops, enticing desserts, and classical music performed by the Armadillo Trio.
We hope that this graduation ceremony is only the start of fulfilling and accomplished lives for all of our graduates.
